Job Summary

The Automation Engineer III plays a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of company and client objectives at the project level. This position requires a strong technical background in automation systems, with a focus on leading quality design, development, installation, and fulfillment of processes and systems utilized for project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads and participates in the design and development of automation systems.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, and provides solutions for technical problems and team members.
  • Manages technical-related tasks with internal team members.
  • Leads project tasks in design, development, testing, installation, commissioning, project closure, and inspections/reporting.
  • Interfaces with clients/vendors on project technical requirements.
  • Leads overall compliance and quality of projects.
  • Responsible for delivery of all project tasks within allotted project budget.
  • Contributes to project scope and budget development.
  • Provides project-level consultancy and client service.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Ability to fulfill the role of Automation Engineer II.
  • Maintains awareness of future opportunities at client facilities and informs management.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Preferred 5 years of Automation or Controls-related experience (includes relevant intern or co-op).
  • Experience should include a minimum of 2 years of leading automation tasks within a team.
  • Technical Expert of multiple automation system platforms, including DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other applicable systems.
  • Experience in implementing solutions based on industry standards (ISA, NFPA, NEC).
  • Ability to obtain ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable personal transportation with valid liability insurance.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Available for after-hour, weekend, and holidays.
  • Available for overnight and extended travel.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, and push, pull, or lift 50+lbs for an extended period.
