Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Graduate Assistant to join our team in the Facilities department at Northern Kentucky University. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily operations of the Campus Recreation Center, implementing risk management plans, and providing excellent customer service to facility users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations of the Campus Recreation Center, including facility entry, equipment check-out, and facility set-ups
  • Implement appropriate risk management plans for CRC operations and coordinate Emergency Action Plans while on duty
  • Manage activities on the CRC daily schedule and ensure that facility spaces are properly set up for classes and programs
  • Resolve patron facility use and equipment check-in issues
  • Provide onsite supervision for special events and assist reservation groups with entrance, set-up, and utilization of facility
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and needs with Facility Coordinator, Facility and Aquatics Coordinator, and Associate Director for Facilities
  • Maintain active inventory of daily check-out items and facility assets
  • Interact with facility users to provide for a positive customer service and effective policy enforcement
  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and developing approximately 50 student facility employees
  • Assist in development and mentorship of approximately 12 student Facility Managers
  • Assist in payroll and budget recording procedures following departmental and university guidelines
  • Responsible for some late night, evening, and weekend oversight of CRC
  • Assist with CPR and monthly trainings for all Campus Rec Staff
Requirements
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be responsible and reliable
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Great time management skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA
What We Offer

The successful candidate will be paid $13.25/hr bi-weekly for up to 20 hours per week with the exception of university holidays and closures. Additionally, the Graduate Assistant will receive full tuition based on their selected NKU Graduate program.
