Position Overview:
The NIGHT SHIFT Maintenance Team plays a crucial role in the management and upkeep of Vestas tools and machinery. This team is tasked with executing reporting and inspection protocols while supporting daily maintenance activities across factory locations. The Maintenance Team is dedicated to the installation, examination, testing, repair, adjustment, and calibration of instruments and machines essential for manufacturing turbine components. Additionally, this role encompasses the maintenance of facilities, buildings, parking areas, landscaping, and the overall campus environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery, including forklifts (5 tons to 42 tons), container stackers, and personnel lifts.
  • Assist in the repair and upkeep of production machinery and factory equipment.
  • Oversee the work order process and optimize workflow, ensuring daily completion of all work order forms and equipment tracking.
  • Maintain the EAM database for newly acquired and existing equipment, while managing preventive maintenance schedules. Facilitate factory tool calibrations and ensure compliance with calibration requirements.
  • Create requisitions in SAP for tools, equipment, new parts, instruments, and supplies.
  • Effectively allocate team resources to ensure timely execution of work orders.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Inspect and test shop equipment and both new and repaired instruments to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
  • Monitor process indicators, spare parts, labor consumption, and equipment performance.
  • Act as the primary contact for equipment suppliers regarding quotes, orders, and troubleshooting support. Host suppliers on-site as needed, following Vestas safety protocols.
  • Provide regular equipment status reports to the Department Manager, including updates on routine maintenance and estimates for damaged equipment repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
  • Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • High adaptability and flexibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other relevant software.
  • Comfortable leading and teaching in group settings.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in manufacturing, chemical, or refinery maintenance.
  • Familiarity with processing equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Skilled in understanding blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and operational sequences.
  • Competencies include regular sitting, hand and finger dexterity, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasional standing, walking, and travel to remote locations may be required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
