Job Title: Director of Estimating

Cinterra is seeking a highly skilled Director of Estimating to lead our estimating function. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction means and methods, as well as project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the Estimating Team
  • Review RFP documents and generate material take-offs and labor estimates
  • Arrange for Procurement of long lead time material and/or subcontractors
  • Attend Pre-bid meetings when required
  • Read contract documents, identify risks and areas to clarify/negotiate
  • Prepare and submit final proposals and bid sheets to the customer
  • Develop policies and procedures related to the bid process
  • Schedule estimating staff to ensure timely bid creation
  • Work with other leadership teams to develop a complete project package
  • Facilitate project hand-off for a smooth transition to Operations
  • Prepare capital cost estimates
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources
  • Remain current with technology and industry evolution
  • Establish, build, and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate checks
  • Develop and mentor Estimating Team members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in business, finance, construction, or related industry
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, 5 of those being in leadership roles
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams
  • Working knowledge of the construction and/or renewable energy industries
  • Ability to read project plans and specifications
  • Understanding of contract language and requirements
  • Effective time management skills, understands how to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience in project estimating and Gantt chart scheduling
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards
  • Excel at operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Outlook
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
