VHB's Providence, RI office is seeking an Environmental Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2025. As an Environmental Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals on various projects, including wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, and water quality monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
- Conduct wetland delineations and threatened and endangered species surveys
- Perform plant identification and vegetation inventory
- Conduct water quality monitoring
- Utilize GPS, mobile technology, and data management
- Apply GIS, geodatabases, and basic mapmaking skills
- Enter data, conduct research, and analysis
- Write and create technical reports
- Provide environmental permit support
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in biology, environmental science, environmental planning, or related field
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with teammates
- Self-motivated with attention to detail
- Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
