Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee Federal environmental remediation projects. The ideal candidate will work from the Chelmsford, Massachusetts or Providence, Rhode Island AECOM office.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and direct professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects.
  • Lead teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems using existing technologies and past experience.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze financial statements and complete budget tracking.
  • Perform work with minimal direction and provide periodic reporting to area managers.
  • Oversee the preparation of work plans and organize project studies.
  • Conduct reviews and provide staff feedback for continued improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related field with + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional License (PE, PG).
  • 10+ years' experience in environmental remediation (soil, water, sediment, PFAS, munitions) project management.
  • Master's degree in Geology, Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or a related degree.
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations.
  • Experience successfully managing environmental projects for Federal clients (USACE, AFCEC, Navy).
  • Thorough working knowledge of RCRA and CERCLA.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills.
  • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
  • Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
  • Interest in business development.
  • Experience leading teams of professionals in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies in support of Federal environmental projects.
  • Occasional overnight travel required.
