Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist IV plays a critical role in performing advanced neurodiagnostic studies and evaluating brain waves for EEG, epilepsy long-term EEG/video monitoring, quantitative EEG intensive care unit monitoring, and ambulatory EEG. This role has two tracks - Advanced Technologist and Technologist Reader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide variety of advanced neurodiagnostic studies and evaluation of brain waves for EEG, epilepsy long-term EEG/video monitoring, quantitative EEG intensive care unit monitoring, and ambulatory EEG.
  • Support and ensure that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team.
  • Proactively support efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
  • May be responsible for serving as charge technologist requiring prioritization and delegation of orders to appropriate neurodiagnostic staff.
  • Perform advanced neurodiagnostic studies in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including but not limited to sEEG, grid placement, and ictal SPECT.
  • Monitor continuous EEG studies to recognize and denote any abnormal activity in accordance with ACNS guidelines.
  • Evaluate video recording concordantly with brain wave pattern for routine EEG and continuous video monitoring, marking study for physician reader.
  • Develop prelim report of routine EEGs and long-term studies for physician reader as assigned.
  • Evaluate multiple trends of quantitative EEG.
Requirements
  • 5 or more years of experience in broad range of neurodiagnostic testing.
  • 2 or more years of experience independently monitoring, writing prelim reports, serving as neurodiagnostic tech in surgical setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree or higher, Graduated from a CCAHEP accredited neurodiagnostic program.
  • Certification Summary: ABRET Certified Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) in addition to a second neurodiagnostic credential including but not limited to CLTM (REQUIRED).
  • Ability to demonstrate competencies key to the position within 6 months of employment.
