About the Role:
Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Press Packing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of our metal stamping processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial visual quality checks on metal stampings to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Pack stampings in appropriate containers to ensure a quality product is available to internal and external customers.
- Perform additional quality checks as necessary and record information in our enterprise resource planning system.
- Perform general utility work to ensure production schedules are met.
- Load, unload, lift, and move products and materials weighing up to 60 pounds, occasionally heavier with assistance.
- Select the proper rack or bin to pack parts and store them for the next process.
- Properly pack parts in correct containers per packaging instructions to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure proper labeling requirements are followed and use personal computers, keyboards, and mice.
- Complete online work center and operator inspection sheets to verify processes are stable and all visual inspection and gage requirements are being met.
- Visually inspect parts from previous operations to ensure proper form, fit, and function.
- Ensure customer and company quality standards are met per gage instructions, first piece inspection approval, problem containment processes, quality alerts, and other quality standards.
- Ensure and maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area by performing housekeeping duties.
- Perform and cross-train on various work centers as required.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and other documentation.
- Meet daily production requirements.
Work Environment:
This is a Y Shift position, working Friday to Sunday, 6am-6pm, at our plant in Holland, MI.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Able to stand for 12 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
