Position Summary:

The Operations Supervisor at BestDrive is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of a retail location. This role involves managing the operational aspects of the store, crafting strategies to enhance customer service, boost sales, and increase profitability while driving business growth. As the primary contact for the location, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for both operational and personnel management. This individual will collaborate with the sales team to engage local fleets and tire users, promoting new tires, retreads, and tire services. Essentially, you will be managing a small business with the robust support of a reputable company and brand. You will lead and guide your team, making key operational and staffing decisions while ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily store operations, supervise staff, and oversee inventory control.
  • Ensure all location staff functions are performed to provide outstanding customer service while maintaining the company's financial integrity.
  • Achieve annual and monthly sales and production targets to ensure profitability.
  • Safeguard assets within your area of responsibility, including inventory, accounts receivable, vehicles, and equipment, with the aim of minimizing operating costs.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and inspire your team members.
  • Utilize the existing business operating system for billing across sales channels.
  • Maintain acceptable profit margins.
  • Support staff performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions; plan, monitor, and evaluate job results.
  • Perform various manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.
  • Oversee all safety, health, and environmental processes by conducting safety meetings, prioritizing safety, and ensuring all necessary paperwork for injuries and accidents is submitted to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop effective sales strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Solicit commercial truck tire accounts in the store and surrounding areas.
  • Manage the sale of new truck tires, retreads, and related services.
  • Maintain relationships with current accounts through regular sales calls and follow-ups.
  • Assist in quarterly inventory management while ensuring product security and control measures.
  • Be available to work rotating shifts, including nights and occasional weekends.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • 5 years of experience in managing and leading teams or projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Preferred:
  • College Degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in the tire industry.
  • 7+ years of experience in team management.
  • 3+ years in retail tire sales.
  • TIA Certification.
  • Knowledge of retread tires.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturday and evening shifts as needed.
  • This position involves working in various indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to heat and cold.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
  • Must handle hazardous materials and wear protective equipment as required by safety regulations.
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs routinely and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
