Job Title: Education Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Support Assistant to join our team at Benton Harbor Charter School Academy. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.

Job Summary:

The Education Support Assistant will provide support to students, staff, and families to create a positive and inclusive school environment. This role will involve enforcing school policies, utilizing appropriate disciplinary procedures, and maintaining open lines of communication with staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students and staff.
  • Utilize appropriate disciplinary procedures and techniques to address student behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Supervise and monitor students during assigned playground, hallway, and lunchroom supervision periods.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with staff and students to ensure a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Assume responsibility for the safe condition of outdoor structures and report any unsafe conditions to the school leader.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a clean background check.
  • Passed a physical exam to certify being in good health and drug-free.
  • Solid record of punctuality verified by background check.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with school personnel and students in a diverse school community.
  • Knowledge and skills working with students from all backgrounds.
