Job Overview

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a skilled Annual and Special Giving Manager to join its philanthropy team. This role plays a vital part in cultivating and stewarding relationships with key stakeholders, driving growth in annual and special giving programs.

About the Position

This dynamic position involves implementing fundraising strategies, managing donor relationships, and coordinating events to support the organization's goals. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience in development or related fields, and the ability to think creatively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyzing Donor Potential: Identify, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of select annual and special giving prospects.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for annual giving societies, including event coordination and stewardship activities.
  3. Collateral Materials: Create engaging content for direct mail, email solicitations, and donor stewardship initiatives.
  4. Event Coordination: Oversee logistics and arrangements for various philanthropy events and giving societies.
  5. Donor Stewardship: Foster strong relationships with donors through regular communication and recognition.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least five years of experience in development or a related field.
  • Persuasive writing and creative thinking skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage workgroups and coordinate logistics.
  • Experience working collaboratively with committees and teams.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $38.67-$58.03 per hour. Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package outlined in the UMMS 2024-2025 Benefits Guide.
