Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of Operations is tasked with overseeing operational strategies, facilitating the onboarding of new centers, orchestrating growth initiatives, and managing business contracts effectively. This role also ensures the governance of centers within their designated regions.
The incumbent will supervise both administrative and clinical operations while driving performance improvement initiatives across their regional portfolio of centers. By engaging with center leadership, including CEOs, the Senior Vice President will plan, organize, direct, and manage all center activities to meet market performance objectives and foster continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of ASCs across a designated geographic area, providing leadership support to center management, staff, and physicians.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and positive relationships with physicians, developing programs to enhance physician engagement and satisfaction, while also boosting employee morale and patient loyalty.
- Collaborate with ASC CEOs and functional department leaders to operationalize the acquisition of new facilities and expand service offerings, including new construction projects, lease agreements, and capacity management.
- Lead strategic initiatives across ASCs to align with organizational goals and vision, independently guiding teams to execute operational, IT, marketing, patient experience, and process improvement projects.
- Partner with Centralized Services to manage revenue cycle functions, including front-end registration, collections, charge entry, and denial management.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and quality standards, developing systems to achieve established policies and objectives.
- Work with ASC leaders to ensure efficient patient flow and operational excellence, monitoring room utilization and staff productivity to meet industry standards.
- Drive revenue growth for ASCs by collaborating with various departments to support growth initiatives and fulfill market business needs.
- Provide strategic direction for new contracts, negotiating and approving agreements as necessary.
- Develop and implement innovative marketing and development plans to support growth and profitability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience with a solid foundation in general management principles and strong financial acumen within the healthcare sector is essential. Experience in strategic planning and business development across various markets is preferred, along with a proven track record of growing and scaling service-oriented business models.
Operational and strategic experience is crucial, alongside a sound understanding of fiscal management, business finance, and corporate governance. Leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and motivating a professional workforce are highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's Degree is preferred, along with prior experience in medical practices and additional related education or experience.
