About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learner Teacher to join our team at DREAM. As an ELL Teacher, you will play a critical role in designing and leading ELL instruction, collaborating with school staff to provide English language support to students in need, and contributing to the development of a culture where all students can achieve at high levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Classroom Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate ELL standards into the daily classroom curriculum, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Design and Implement ELL Instruction: Employ a variety of ELL instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including whole group, small-group, and individual learning.
  • Develop and Implement Curriculum: Implement a Common Core-aligned and ELL Language Standard curriculum based on the different language acquisition levels, using backwards lesson planning and following school-wide protocols for developing, differentiating, and documenting syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and rubrics.
  • Track and Monitor Student Progress: Track, monitor, and assume responsibility for the academic progress of students, using ELL Assessment data and school-wide assessment data to inform instruction.
  • Develop Language Acquisition Support Plans: Assist in developing language acquisition support plans (ELL plans) for all ELL students and work with classroom teachers to implement plans.
  • Communicate with Parents and Families: Establish and maintain communication with parents of students in the program, engaging them in their child's learning and acting as an ambassador for the school in the community.
  • Build Relationships and Set Expectations: Build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues, setting high expectations and promoting a culture of academic excellence.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Actively participate in all meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development, including an annual summer institute.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Certification: Special Education and/or ESOL certification, preferred.
  • Experience: At least two years of teaching experience with a record of improving student achievement, preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences; a commitment to working with diverse populations of families and students; and a strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM.
Benefits and Compensation

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible medical health plans, dental and vision plans, disability benefits, life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching. Our compensation package includes a salary range of $76,000 to $93,000 per year for incoming teachers with a Master's degree, and $67,000 to $87,000 per year for incoming teachers with a Bachelor's degree.
