Key Responsibilities

The Admissions Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the referral intake and coordinating of admissions at Select Specialty Hospital - Camp Hill. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate entry of referrals, admissions, denials, and conversion notes into the database.
  • Maintaining a zero-deficiency rate to eliminate holds.
  • Initiating and tracking pre-certification processes.
  • Verifying Medicare benefits and secondary/supplemental insurance plans.
  • Obtaining authorization and pre-admitting/admitting patients into Med-Host.
  • Completing admissions paperwork and reviewing patient forms.
  • Obtaining insurance cards and confirming demographic information.
  • Leading the morning meeting and communicating admissions information to the hospital.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have prior experience in a hospital or physician practice, knowledge of medical terminology, and insurance verification in a healthcare environment. A High School Diploma or GED is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with direct experience in third-party insurance verification, knowledge of Medicare benefits, and previous experience as a customer service representative for a health insurance company or provider are preferred.
