About the Role
At Select Specialty Hospital - Camp Hill, we are seeking a highly skilled Admissions Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our hospital's operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission process for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Manage the referral intake and coordination of admissions, ensuring timely and accurate entry of all relevant information into our database.
- Monitor and maintain a zero-deficiency rate to eliminate holds and ensure seamless patient flow.
- Initiate and track pre-certification processes, ensuring timely follow-up and processing.
- Verify Medicare benefits and secondary/supplemental insurance plans to ensure accurate coverage.
- Obtain authorization and initiate admissions, maintaining patient records and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Complete admissions paperwork, review patient forms, and secure necessary signatures.
- Obtain insurance cards and confirm demographic information for patients upon arrival.
- Lead the morning meeting, providing census, budgeted numbers, and other essential information.
- Communicate admissions details, bed numbers, and physician information to the hospital as needed.
- Provide tours of the hospital and ensure a positive patient experience.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a hospital or physician practice setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification in a healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in third-party insurance verification and knowledge of Medicare benefits.
- Previous experience as a customer service representative for a health insurance company or provider.
- Previous experience with obtaining prior authorizations.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
