Job Summary:

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department is seeking a highly skilled Fire Prevention Engineering Assistant II to join our team in responding to the homelessness crisis. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fire safety inspections and investigations to identify potential fire hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop and implement effective fire prevention and response plans.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to community members, organizations, and other stakeholders on fire safety and prevention.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts, including fire suppression and rescue operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to promote fire safety and prevention.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in fire protection engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in fire protection engineering or a related field.
  • Valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in emergency response or fire prevention.
  • Knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
