Respiratory Therapist RRT Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center.

Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT will perform critical care and diagnostic procedures for patients of all ages, utilizing cardiopulmonary diseases diagnosis and treatment. As a member of the patient-focused care team, the RRT will be responsible for performing basic respiratory equipment maintenance, quality control measures, and other administrative or technical tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients appropriately, interpret results accurately, and suggest alternative respiratory treatment
  • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment
  • Exhibit competency in routine patient assessment and correctly recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction
  • Function as a respiratory care protocol assessor, delivering therapy and reassessing patients in a timely manner, and maintaining proper and accurate documentation
Requirements
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care NBRC
  • Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP certification required for NICU RRT Staff
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS certification required for ICU RRT staff
