Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing repairs on a variety of motorized equipment used in the everyday operation of the Golf Course. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance/repair of small engine equipment/vehicles and knowledge of operating/maintaining powered equipment used in grounds maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and perform maintenance on golf carts, lawn mowers, tractors, and other equipment
• Determine when various parts should be cleaned or replaced
• Locate worn, dirty, or poorly adjusted parts through visual check or use of equipment
• Use a variety of tools, gauges, wrenches, pliers, brake tools, ignition tools, screwdrivers, etc.
• Assist in maintaining golf course grounds by operating tractor with attachments and adjusting equipment for job requirements
• Cut down or dig up diseased or dead trees and remove roots and stumps using power operated equipment or by hand operated tools
• Remove fallen limbs and debris, prune, trim, shrubs
• Operate tractor to avoid damaging shrubs, trees, and grass
• Reseed, resod, respring, regrade grass areas where grass has been completely killed
• Assist other personnel in applying fertilizer and water to grass areas
• Perform operator maintenance by making adjustments to loosen bolts, screws, blades, belts, oil fittings, joint linage, etc.
• File dull cutting edge of blades and backlap reels
• Clean and maintain all tools used in ground maintenance and equipment repair
• Clean and make adjustments to sprinkler heads
• Inventory and maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts needed to assure prompt repairs can be performed

Working Conditions:

• Works under the supervision of the Golf Course Manager, who provides specific assignments and tasks either orally or in writing
• Performs duties independently
• Performs repair work in accordance with accepted trade practices and repair manuals
• Completed work is checked for compliance with instruction and for adequacy

Requirements:

• Must have progressively responsible experience performing maintenance/repair of small engine equipment/vehicles
• Must have knowledge of both operating/maintaining powered equipment used in grounds maintenance
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
• This position is a drug testing position
