Position Overview: The Head of Credit Strategy is instrumental in overseeing credit decisions and managing associated risks in alignment with credit policies and regulations. This position is tasked with leading risk management initiatives that support the organization's risk appetite while optimizing pricing, acquisition targets, yield returns, and credit analytics to achieve the growth objectives of UGA Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

1.

Credit Decision Authority:

As the Head of Credit Strategy, you will have the authority delegated from executive leadership to formulate, manage, and uphold the Company's Credit Policy, while also chairing the Credit Committee.


2.

Policy Development and Management:

Work closely with executive leadership to propose policy modifications based on performance data and trends to effectively manage risk within the Company's risk appetite.


3.

Performance Reporting and Analysis:

Develop comprehensive reporting packages for monthly credit committee sessions, track performance through analytics, and suggest adjustments to align with the Company's risk appetite. Highlight areas of concern, create dashboards, and collaborate with partner risk teams to support any recommended changes in partnership programs.

4.

Market Awareness:

Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends related to consumer lending performance, marketplace lending risks, capital markets, structured finance, and merchant point-of-sale acquisition strategies.

5.

Risk Oversight:

Supervise portfolio trends under asset management arrangements and ensure compliance with prescribed covenants. Adjust acquisition or account management strategies to ensure targets are sustainably met.


6.

Credit Review Processes:

Oversee the evaluation of credit relationships or merchant programs during onboarding and on an annual basis to ensure risk ratings remain within acceptable thresholds, documentation is adequate, and partner obligations are consistently met.

7.

Quality Assurance and Strategy Development:

Establish a quality assurance program to ensure that applications, approvals, conversions, and funding align with forecasts and budgets. Develop champion/challenger strategies to continuously enhance the Company's credit strategies.


8.

Team Development:

Facilitate the development of experienced credit review staff, including coordinating credit policy training with senior compliance management.



Qualifications:
Minimum of five years in a Credit Strategy or Risk Management role. Experience in leadership and familiarity with Credit Committees or Model Risk Management is preferred.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Statistics; MBA is preferred.

Certifications:
SAS, CFA, FRM, CBF, or CBA certifications are preferred.
