Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Financial Assistance Representative to join our team. As a key member of our financial services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive the financial assistance they need to access quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen patients for financial assistance programs, including Medicaid, charity care, and other government-funded initiatives.
- Accurately process and complete financial assistance applications, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a timely and empathetic manner.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Stay up-to-date on changing regulations and guidelines, ensuring that our financial assistance programs remain compliant and effective.
- Enter data accurately and efficiently into our financial systems, ensuring that patient information is secure and confidential.
- Prepare and submit reports as required, providing insights and recommendations to improve our financial assistance programs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in a financial assistance or patient advocacy role.
- Knowledge of NJ Charity Care regulations and NJFC program.
Licenses and Certifications
- Presumptive Eligibility (PE) certification required; must maintain certification through annual updates.
- Certified Application Counselor Certification through State of NJ Get Covered NJ required; must maintain certification through annual recertification.
