Job Summary

LewisGale Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse RN Neonatal ICU NICU to join our team. As a NICU Registered Nurse, you will deliver patient-centered nursing care to infants who may be premature and have one or more serious health conditions beyond low birth weight.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver standard medications and perform tests, regularly monitor and record infants' vital signs, track how much they're eating, and much more.
  • Utilizing computerized documentation systems, monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions.
  • Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers.
  • As patients are able to be discharged, educate the infant's care-givers and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate NRP certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS and STABLE certifications preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or current Multistate Compact License.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit preferred.
