Shore Excursion Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Shore Excursion Manager to join our team at MSH. As a key member of our Shore Excursion Department, you will be responsible for managing the development of shore excursions with our selected tour operator and vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of shore excursions, including tour descriptions, pricing, policies, and uploading to systems.
  • Support, motivate, and manage Shorex Managers and Coordinators at our corporate office.
  • Provide strong communication and support of the shipboard shore excursion team in the delivery and execution of the product.
  • Ensure tour proposals (RFPs) are sent out according to deadlines.
  • Communicate with local ground operators, confirming services, tour manuals, pricing, and any other crucial details.
  • Monitor trends to ensure negotiated net cost and sell prices meet and/or exceed targeted profitability.
  • Monitor and maximize revenue opportunities to increase participation and profitability.
  • Ensure all finalized tour descriptions with pricing and special notes are posted on our website according to confirmed timelines.
  • Oversee all tour inventory and ensure Shorex coordinator staff is continually monitoring and checking sales, updating inventory in the reservation system.
  • Oversee the maintenance and renewal of yearly shore excursion agreements and exhibits.
  • Ensure all tour operators and vendors are vetted to confirm they are reputable and licensed in their country/port of operation.
  • Manage tour operator competitive analysis for maiden calls or ports and where it is deemed a new tour operator may be needed.
  • Coordinate special Shorex from beginning planning stages to execution.
  • Complete site inspections when requested to vet tour operator and destination.
  • Oversee the monitoring and responses to external and internal customers issues and complaints regarding shore excursion delivery.
  • Assume responsibility of handling a trade and/or ports within a trade when Port Coordinators are unable to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of automation and familiarity with all in-house systems used to support the Shore Excursion Department.
  • Ability to continue to monitor systems and offer input and assistance in the development of automating all aspects of Shore Excursion-related programs.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) to ensure the team works efficiently and effectively.
  • Traveling is required.
