About the Role

Carpenter Co. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician to join our team at our Altoona, PA manufacturing plant. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building machinery, including troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and installing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to line calls and debug mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including tearing down and rebuilding machinery/equipment
  • Operate forklifts, clamp-lifts, genie boom, scissor lifts, and other machinery as needed
  • Install and maintain interior and exterior lighting systems
  • Read and prepare pneumatic, plumbing, and other piping diagrams; electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and blueprints
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years technical or specialty education preferred
  • PLC experience/education servicing programmable logic systems with Allen Bradley, Yaskawa, Yokogawa, and Siemens highly preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment preferred
