About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will embark on a year-long residency program tailored to your individual learning needs. This program is designed to enhance your nursing skills, clinical judgment, and communication abilities while providing direct patient care under the guidance of an experienced coach.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Engaging in a customized residency curriculum based on individual learning objectives.
  • Delivering direct nursing care in alignment with established healthcare protocols.
  • Adjusting patient care priorities based on acuity, preferences, and available resources.
  • Implementing interventions to ensure the continuity of safe and effective patient care.
  • Responding to health risks and taking appropriate actions to mitigate them.
  • Seeking guidance when necessary to ensure safe practice.
  • Adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing effective communication strategies to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Documenting patient information in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on the work area.
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on the specific nursing unit.

Work Environment:

This role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The position may involve exposure to stressful situations and requires physical stamina.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • May involve exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
