Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Focus: Our ICU is specialized in caring for adult to mature adult patients facing significant medical and surgical challenges. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will engage in a tailored year-long residency program designed to suit your individual needs and pace. This program will empower you to deliver direct nursing care while being mentored by an experienced coach who will guide you toward professional success. You will enhance your clinical judgment, develop strong communication skills, and master complex nursing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a residency core curriculum tailored to your learning requirements.
  • Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a coach, adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Adjust priorities for patient care based on acuity, patient preferences, and available resources.
  • Initiate and maintain interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Respond proactively to health risks and take corrective actions.
  • Seek guidance and support when necessary to ensure safe and independent practice.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental personnel policies.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient care accurately in medical records according to guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is necessary for those in critical care areas, to be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on specific clinical settings.

Work Environment:

  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Full range of body motion is required, including lifting and handling patients.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must have corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids is possible.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adhere to Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
