We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Walgreens. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of our Unified Design Standards for stores. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from retail and non-retail buildings to engineering protocols and design standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain knowledge of engineering protocols, including state and local jurisdictional mandates, company standards, and best practices.
- Work with internal and external business partners to value engineer and optimize total cost of ownership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to decrease total cost of ownership and deliver results.
- Subject matter expert in contract negotiation and lead teams of licensed building design professionals.
- Create and maintain Company Unified Design Standards, including Design Guidelines, Brand Guidelines, Architecture and Engineering Standards, Building Criteria, Specifications, and Technical Manuals.
- Apply value engineering principles to lifecycle costs and occupancy costs through our Company Unified Design Standards.
- Report on progress and use analytics, lessons learned, and best practices to re-inject learning's into the Company Unified Design Standards.
- Subject Matter Expert in the stated discipline, supporting current technical needs and requirements to the overall development program, assuring best in class design.
