Role Overview:
The Clinical Nurse I is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in alignment with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. This role is essential for monitoring and evaluating patient functional status.
Educational Requirements:Completion of an accredited nursing program as recognized by the state board of nursing, and possession of a diploma or degree.
Licensure and Certification:Must hold a valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
Experience: 0 - 6 months of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with general disease management processes, bio-psychosocial models, and clinical pathways. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks. Detail-oriented approach to clinical and numerical data examination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ the nursing process to deliver patient care.
- Assess, organize, and execute patient care while considering age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
- Document all steps of the nursing process accurately.
- Utilize appropriate medical terminology and address patient issues while tracking progress towards goals.
- Facilitate patient discharge through timely referrals and educational resources tailored to patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams as necessary.
- Contribute to unit and hospital objectives through participation in performance improvement and educational initiatives.
Decision-Making:
Exercise independent judgment in making decisions from a variety of options, subject to general review in final stages.
Working Relationships:- Coordinate activities with others (non-supervisory role).
- Lead peers in similar tasks (non-supervisory role).
- Engage directly with patients and customers, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff, frequently interacting with individuals at the Director level or above.
