Tax Compliance Specialist

The Tax Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the management of corporate income and payroll taxes. This position ensures adherence to international, federal, state, and local regulations while striving to optimize the corporate tax obligations through thorough research, strategic planning, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of international, federal, state, and local income and payroll tax filings.
- Review and compilation of annual financial reports.
- Support in interim and year-end tax provisions.
- Conduct account analyses and reconciliations.
- Assist in the calculation of estimates and apportionment.
- Provide documentation and support for audit defense across jurisdictions.
- Engage in tax research activities.
- Support initiatives related to credits and incentives.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information.
- Participate in special projects as required.
The Tax Compliance Specialist will work closely with multiple departments within the organization, particularly with Corporate Tax, Corporate Accounting, Legal, and Real Estate teams. This collaboration is essential for collecting the necessary data for tax disclosures and responding to requests from different tax authorities.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in tax or accounting (public or private).
- A Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Access, and Word.
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously.
- 1-3 years of experience in preparing corporate income and payroll tax returns.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with CorpTax software is advantageous.
