About the Role

The Tax Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring Lowe's compliance with sales and use tax regulations across the US. This position will be responsible for managing and monitoring sales and use tax audits, as well as real property appeals, to minimize the corporate tax burden of these areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support sales and use tax audits and real property appeals to minimize corporate tax burden
  • Manage, monitor, and track assigned sales and use tax audits and real property appeals
  • Prepare and file tax returns, general ledger account reconciliations, and SOX internal control testing
  • Conduct tax research on various topics and provide support on property tax appeals and other local jurisdictional indirect taxes
  • Answer tax-related questions from stores and vendors via phone and email
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of tax and/or accounting experience (public or private)
  • Masters in Accounting or Tax can be substituted for experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Access, and Word
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • 1-3 years experience in the preparation of corporate income and payroll tax returns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with CorpTax preferred
