Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Staff: Assist team members in navigating authorization-related challenges and ensure the timely submission of required documentation.
  • Process Compliance: Follow established protocols and procedures set by leadership to ensure a consistent and effective referral process.
  • Referral Processing: Manage incoming agency referrals, ensuring accurate client information is recorded and assist clients in scheduling their intake appointments for a seamless experience.
  • Authorization Oversight: Initiate and monitor all authorizations through Electronic Health Record systems and payer portals to confirm service coverage for reimbursement.
  • Follow-Up Procedures: Engage with payers to rectify any initial or reauthorization approvals that require amendments.
  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with direct care staff and management regarding authorization statuses, including updates on approvals, denials, and nearing exhaustion of authorizations.
  • Documentation: Keep the Electronic Health Record updated with relevant authorization information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Data Management: Track referrals and manage client data, ensuring all information is current and accessible.
  • Document Handling: Process incoming faxes and documents, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Client Interaction: Respond to agency phone inquiries, providing excellent customer service and routing calls to the correct departments.
