MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is a healthcare entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides medical services to patients throughout the state of South Carolina.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) participates in the care of a defined patient population, assisting with data collection, formulation of plans for patient care, and evaluation of outcomes of nursing actions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient-centered care, acting as a partner and adviser to patients and families
  • Assisting medical staff with preparation, examination, and procedures
  • Documenting patient care delivered in the medical record according to MUSC policy
  • Performing telephone and in-person screenings
  • Cleaning and stocking examination rooms and/or other supply areas

Requirements include:

  • Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensure as an LPN in the state of South Carolina or a compact state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
