Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is currently seeking a Team Lead III for our operations. Individuals in this role play a crucial part in managing the material flow and scheduling processes within the Engine Assembly sector.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee a diverse group of production operators across various functions such as Assembly, Cleaning, Disassembly, Logistics, Machining, and Quality.
  • Ensure the availability of materials to maintain a seamless assembly process and manage the daily scheduling of the master production plan.
  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Train team members on quality standards and verify the accuracy of parts before they proceed to the next stage.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees through hands-on training.
  • Provide coverage for absent team members or other team leads as necessary.
  • Address Andon calls and resolve issues related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Communicate issues to the Section Manager, engineers, maintenance, or Continuous Improvement (CI) teams as needed.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions for challenges that arise in the production area.
  • Initiate and manage CI cards to drive ongoing improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as required.
  • Gather data and update performance metrics as necessary.
  • Conduct Process Improvement Dialogues at the cell level.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and ensuring adherence to 5S practices.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to create and maintain up-to-date work instructions.
  • Ensure regular maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled.
  • Engage with customers to ensure team performance meets expectations.
  • Support team members in achieving safety, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exhibit quick learning abilities and coaching skills to train team members effectively.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately among team members.
  • Understand the significance of time management and maintain a proactive approach.
  • Spend approximately 50% of time on the production line.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, email, and data entry.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of CI systems and maintenance work order processes.
  • Experience in engine assembly is highly desirable.
  • Experience in ordering tools and supplies.
Additional Information:

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting hourly pay rate of $25.20, with potential for negotiation based on skills and experience.

Work Hours: 5AM - 3PM; Monday - Thursday

40-hour work weeks with opportunities for overtime

80 hours of vacation plus an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)
