Job Title: Senior Component Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Component Engineer to join our team at Danbury Mission Technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expertise in High Reliability, Military, and Space Level EEE Component Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, define, and implement component engineering requirements to ensure design integrity and hardware robustness.
  • Execute processes and procedures required to follow an EEEE (Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical) component through selection, specification generation, procurement, part screening/qualification, and data review/inspections.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to implement Component/Reliability Requirements, including Component Selection, Screening, and Qualification Definition, Reliability Studies, Stress Analysis, Component Database management, and Supply Chain Guidance.
  • Support Radiation Transport/Characterization Analysis and Implement Radiation Test Plans on Components.
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including supplier quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Create presentations and participate in internal/external customer meetings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience working in EEEE Component Engineering in High Reliability, Military, or Space Flight Environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of EEEE device types, construction, operation, and failure analysis.
  • Experience working in U.S. Government Department of Defense or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience documenting/managing component requirements using parts control plans and parts.
  • Experience with radiation survivability (TID, DDD, SEE) of electronic devices in space environments.
  • Working knowledge of Government, Industry specs, and standards (MIL-STD-1547, NASA INST-002, DLA).
  • Excellent project leadership, presentation, and decision-making skills.
