Job Overview

The primary role of the Machine Operator involves the efficient packing of finished products (envelopes) into cartons while consistently monitoring quality standards. This outline serves as a guideline; responsibilities may vary based on management directives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in repetitive tasks of handling and packing envelopes into designated packaging.
  • Some machinery necessitates manual loading of cut blanks by the operator.
  • Initiate machine shutdown in the event of malfunctions or quality concerns.
  • Inspect envelopes for quality in folding, sealing, printing, and gluing.
  • Periodically count packs of envelopes to ensure mechanical counter accuracy.
  • Reduce waste by ensuring proper segregation of waste materials.
  • Support machine technicians with basic tasks to restore envelope folding machines to operational status.
  • Regularly assist in the cleaning of assigned machinery.
  • Perform offline cleaning of printer components as required.
  • Receive training to operate all envelope folding machinery.
  • Review and comprehend customer specifications outlined on job jackets.
  • Communicate relevant information with incoming and outgoing shifts.
  • Accurately complete daily production documentation.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening, criminal background check, and physical examination.
