Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Team Assistant to join our team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room and ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Help to position patients on the operating table and ensure their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Provide support to the surgeon and other team members during the operation, including handing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized operating room environment, including washing and sterilizing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the circulator and anesthesia provider to ensure the smooth preparation of patients for surgery.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP.
  • Three to five years of experience as a First Assist.
  • NTSBSA CST or CSFA certification, or ABSA CST or CSFA certification.
Working Conditions

The Special Physical Demands of this position are considered Essential Job Functions. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
