Job Summary

Offutt Collision Repair is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Auto Body Parts Assistant. As a key member of our auto body shop, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of our facility by managing parts inventory, assisting with parts identification, and ensuring the correct parts are received for vehicle repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Track and maintain inventory of parts received for the repair order, ensuring accurate records and efficient storage.
  • Parts Identification: Open all parts to verify the correct auto body parts were received, and address any discrepancies or damage.
  • Parts Organization: Maintain a clean and organized parts storage area, labeling and storing parts properly for easy access.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of parts received and verified to be correct, supporting our quality control process.
  • Support Repair Team: Coordinate with auto body technicians to ensure the availability of required parts and assist with parts-related issues during vehicle repairs.
  • Quality Control: Inspect received parts for damage or discrepancies and handle returns or exchanges as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive or parts management training is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in auto body parts or automotive repair is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of auto body parts and automotive repair processes.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to use computer systems for parts inventory management and order processing.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy parts, and perform tasks that involve standing, bending, and reaching.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in an auto body shop environment with exposure to automotive chemicals and noise.
  • Standard working hours with possible overtime as needed.
