Job Title: Dietary Director

Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Director to lead our Dietary Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department to ensure high-quality food service and nutritional care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management: Recruit, select, train, supervise, and retain a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the Dietary Department.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Supervise the preparation and service of planned menus, nourishments, and supplements, ensuring compliance with company policies and state and federal guidelines.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Ensure that food is received, stored, prepared, held, and served in accordance with company policies and state and federal guidelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with current regulations and policies, and report findings to the QAPI committee.
  • Clinical Duties: Complete clinical duties and documentation accurately and timely, as assigned, with oversight from a Registered Dietitian and within individual state licensure laws.
  • Nutritional Education: Assist with nutritional education for residents, patients, families, and caregivers.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: One year of food service supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on food management, diet therapy, and cost control.
  • Skills: Ability to analyze data, reports, and problems, and develop workable solutions and goals. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:

The Dietary Director will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and exposure to hot and cold temperatures in the kitchen and storage areas. The ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods is required.
