Job Summary

GreenPower Motor Company is seeking a skilled Assembly Line Technician to join our team in Porterville, CA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for installing mechanical components and ensuring the proper operation of drive train, mechanical, and chassis assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install drive train, mechanical, and chassis assemblies, parts, and components per work instructions.
  • Ensure proper operation of all drive train, mechanical, and chassis assemblies, parts, and components.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with corrective measures as needed due to engineering or design issues.
  • Continually self-inspect during work shift; analyze and offer suggestions for progressive improvement.
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Operate and preventively maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal work instructions.
  • Skilled in the operation of basic hand tools, shop tools, and equipment.
  • Competency in the use of measuring devices to stay within required tolerances.
  • Knowledge of drive train, mechanical, and chassis components and parts and materials following industry standards for proper mechanical operations.
  • Ability to quickly learn processes, adapt to process changes, and implement those changes.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and crawl.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift and move up to 30 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see and adjust visual focus both up-close and at a distance; position requires peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to see and distinguish colors.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to high-levels of noise.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.
  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
  • Position may operate a motor vehicle and may work outdoors.
