About the Job:

The Counselor IV plays a vital role in our treatment team, providing comprehensive support and guidance to clients struggling with addiction and behavioral issues. This position requires a strong understanding of counseling principles and a passion for helping others achieve recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct group and family sessions, providing education and support to clients and their loved ones.
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members to ensure seamless care and support for clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in need, utilizing de-escalation techniques and other strategies to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, referral sources, and insurance carriers, ensuring smooth communication and coordination of care.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of client needs and make recommendations for additional support or services as needed.
  • Develop and lead educational workshops and training sessions for clients, families, and staff, focusing on topics such as substance abuse, mental health, and recovery strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in addiction treatment, incorporating this knowledge into treatment plans and services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social or health services field, with 6+ years of experience in counseling; or Bachelor's degree in other field with 8+ years of experience in counseling; or Master's degree in social or health services field, with 4+ years of professional work experience.
  • Licensure or certification for counseling may be required by the state in which the facility operates.
  • CAP - Professional substance abuse counselor certification.
  • CPR and de-escalation certification required.
