Your Role as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a crucial role in the treatment and recovery journey of our patients dealing with opioid use disorder. Counselors deliver compassionate care through various methods, including both individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver compassionate and high-quality guidance in individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Plan, oversee, and document patient recovery processes.
  • Co-facilitate group or family therapy sessions as required.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care and treatment incidents.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
  • Assess patient needs and determine necessary referrals to other programs or facilities.
  • Plan aftercare strategies for assigned patients.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Manage case responsibilities for patients, ensuring personalized quality care.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and referral sources as necessary.
Qualifications:

Required Education and Skills:
  • Master's degree in a social or health services field.
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in addiction recovery and/or medication-assisted treatment environments.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Not mandatory; applicable for CAP, LPC, LCSW credentials.
