Public Utilities Engineering Supervisor

The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Public Staff - North Carolina Utilities Commission, is seeking a Public Utilities Engineering Supervisor to join our team. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a competitive salary range of $82,011 - $150,000.
Job Summary:This is a supervisory and advanced professional engineering position in a regulatory environment concerning planning, operation, cost recovery, rate setting, acquisition, extension, or curtailment of electric and natural gas public utility services and the development/implementation of related policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise division activities and perform engineer responsibilities on utility filings of a high degree of complexity and scope.
- Work with the Executive Director to develop policies and positions of the Public Staff in electric and natural gas utility matters.
- Review, investigate, and make recommendations to the Commission regarding utility companies' proposals, carbon and integrated resource planning, and utilities compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Prepare and deliver expert engineering testimony at hearings before the NC Utilities Commission on utility companies' proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of experience in utility operational or regulatory engineering work.
- Registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
Competitive salary range of $82,011 - $150,000, health insurance, retirement benefits, and paid vacation, sick, and community service leave.
