Job Title: Civil Project Engineer II

CEMS Engineering Inc is seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer II to join our team in Summerville, SC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing plans for civil site projects, including hydrology and hydraulic studies, drainage reports, site plans, technical specifications, grading and utility plans, erosion control plans, and roadway design. As experience is gained, responsibilities will expand to include coordination with other engineering teams and disciplines within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare plans for civil site projects, including hydrology and hydraulic studies, drainage reports, site plans, technical specifications, grading and utility plans, erosion control plans, and roadway design.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams and disciplines within the firm to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Manage and coordinate with staff in multiple office locations to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including those affecting coastal communities in NC and SC.
Requirements:
  • Minimum BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in civil engineering and site design.
  • Professional Engineer licensure is required.
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment and effectively manage time.
  • Effective written communication skills, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable in specific requirements affecting coastal communities in NC and SC.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience preparing bids and proposals, producing design drawings, preparing technical specifications, preparing permit submittals, and assisting in providing bid services and construction monitoring.
  • Proficient with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, SWMM, HEC/RAS, and Civil 3D, with proficiency with MicroStation a plus.
