Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electrician to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a Marine Electrician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical systems on naval ships, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including controllers, motors, and lighting systems
  • Inspect and test electrical equipment to ensure compliance with naval standards
  • Develop and implement technical documents, including work packages and procedures
  • Provide work direction to others and manage subcontractors
  • Perform a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks
Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience
  • Experience in inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and schematics
  • Experience with electrical systems and continuity of circuits
  • Ability to plan work involving layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Ability to train sailors in troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current, valid DoD Secret Security clearance or higher
  • At least 6-8 years of shipboard experience in the electrical field
  • Previous experience troubleshooting electrical equipment on naval ships
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces.
