Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus grounds and facilities to prevent and respond to security incidents
  • Investigate and report on criminal offenses and security breaches
  • Monitor and respond to emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, and security alarms
  • Provide safety escorts and respond to requests for assistance from the campus community
  • Enforce college and local laws, rules, and regulations
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and other emergency responders
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of directly related experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
Work Environment

This is an essential personnel position that requires working in a variety of situations, including during holidays, weekends, day/evening/night shifts, forced overtime, and in a state of emergency. The successful candidate must be able to sit or stand for long periods, walk, run, climb, bend, stoop, and lift weights proportionate with need to perform medical assistance. The position also requires the ability to traverse all types of terrain, including up and down hills, and on off-road uneven surfaces.
