Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Triage Nurse to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. The successful candidate will provide expert triage services for our abdominal post-transplant patients, ensuring seamless communication and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise in triage and patient assessment, prioritizing and resolving patient concerns in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Document all patient interactions and communications in the electronic medical record.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate care with specialists as needed.
  • Assist in emergency and hospital transfers, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider, adhering to nursing standards and guidelines.
  • Provide education and support to patients and staff on clinical issues and best practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure adequate coverage and adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
  • Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Illinois.
  • CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN degree.
  • Specialty certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
  • Spanish speaking.
