We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Scientist to join our team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a key member of our Division of Genetics and Metabolism, you will be responsible for conducting translational research, providing clinical genetic services, and contributing to the development of new treatments for mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) and other genetic disorders.
Responsibilities- Conduct translational research in MPS and other genetic disorders
- Provide clinical genetic services, including evaluation and management of patients with congenital abnormalities, connective tissue disorders, skeletal dysplasias, neurodegenerative disorders, and metabolic disorders
- Participate in the development of new treatments for MPS and other genetic disorders
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, research staff, and dedicated health professionals
- MD, board certified/board eligible in Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics/Biochemical Genetics
- Excellent clinical skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience with longitudinal research projects and exposure to MPS patients
