Job Summary

We are seeking an Animal Care Specialist to join our team. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our breeding and farrowing teams. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Animal Care: Provide daily care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water, and a comfortable environment.
  • Animal Movement: Assist with the movement of animals, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Health and Vaccination: Treat and vaccinate animals as needed, maintaining accurate records of their health status.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of animal care and health records.
  • Facility Maintenance: Assist with power washing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Physical Demands: Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • PQA Certification: Maintain PQA certification status, which will be provided on the job.
  • Bi-Security: Follow all Schwartz Farms bio-security policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of our animals and employees.
