Key Responsibilities of the Youth Support Specialist:

  • Supervise the overall well-being of residents
  • Foster the development of positive habits and attitudes among residents
  • Manage and guide resident behavior effectively
  • Assist in achieving the objectives outlined in individual resident service plans
  • Ensure coordinated oversight of residents at all times
  • Maintain a continuous awareness of each resident's status and provide accurate reports
  • Uphold structure and regulations consistently
  • Document all necessary forms with precision and accuracy
  • Conduct testing on residents following home visits, absences, and as required, ensuring compliance
  • Participate in all required training and actively seek additional training opportunities to enhance skills
  • Perform other tasks as directed by senior management
  • Availability to work during weekends is essential

Qualifications for the Youth Support Specialist:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of six months experience in child care
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or currently pursuing this qualification
  • Understanding of the organization's mission and core values
  • Ability to facilitate positive family interactions and encourage resident participation in community activities
  • Provide services in a culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate manner
  • Possess the necessary temperament to care for children and youth, including those with special needs across various age groups
  • Capable of accurately collecting, reviewing, and analyzing testing results for residents

Work Schedule:

  • Flexible shifts available
  • Weekend shifts consist of 12-hour periods
  • Weekday shifts available in 8-hour blocks
