Key Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists patients and visitors, ascertaining their needs and directing them accordingly.
  • Registers patients in accordance with established standards and policies, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is documented in the computer and chart.
  • Performs all front office duties, including check-in functions, verifying patient information, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and collecting payments.
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of patient records, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Collaborates with healthcare staff to resolve patient concerns and issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Stays up-to-date with changing policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Previous experience with electronic medical record systems and Windows-based desktop applications is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance, and managed care plans is required.
  • CPT/ICD-10 coding knowledge is a plus.
