Position Overview:

The Procurement Coordinator at the City of Thomasville is essential in managing the acquisition and supply chain processes. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role involves formulating purchasing strategies, nurturing vendor partnerships, and ensuring adherence to procurement regulations. The successful candidate will be proactive, possess strong communication abilities, and have a solid foundation in procurement.

  • Establish objectives, goals, and policies related to procurement
  • Enhance and implement purchasing standards and protocols
  • Oversee procurement initiatives and process enhancements
  • Negotiate agreements and maintain vendor partnerships
  • Ensure budget adherence and identify cost-reduction opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in procurement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex documentation

Physical and Environmental Considerations:

Mobility for office tasks, visual acuity for document review, and effective communication skills are essential for this position.
